Welcome to the ScienceTunnel on the boundaries of todays knowledge. Research the quest for new knowledge is as old as humanity itself. From time immemorial we human beings have been asking ourselves questions about the origin of the world, the development of life, the future of the universe. Today, scientists are systematically looking for answers to these questions answers which can provide us with a better understanding of our existence and enable us to treat nature in a responsible way. In a kind of zoom (time-lapse), the Science Tunnel offers unexpected views into previously hidden worlds both in us and around us. The path leads past a total of twelve stations, from the smallest particles of matter (10-15 meters) to the largest structures in the universe (1025 meters). It shows what challenges todays researchers are meeting in the various dimensions of our existence: in the world of atoms, molecules and materials; of cells and organisms; in research on disease or the functions of the brain, all the way to problems of human coexistence and the future of the earth and the universe. the english version of the sciencetunnel start on 1. June 2001. german version: http://www.sciencetunnel.com |
